SOLNA CENTRUM

1. The Move to the City

A wall painting on the platform for trains towards Akalla.

The furniture is carried out of the red lodge in Hoting. The lack of jobs force the residents to move to the city.

Note: Many people had to move from northern Sweden to Stockholm during the 70s, because of the jobs that were available in the city. New suburbs grew along the metro’s blue line and many of the newly moved in families settled there. The artists wanted the new residents to recognize the location Solna station, when they passed or when got off the train here.
