1. The Guards

The vaults between the platforms by the exit to Gallerian.

This is where you meet one of three guards – the god of war. The other guard is at the exit towards Arsenalsgatan, and the third one you’ll find by the ticket office by the same exit.

The originals are from the 1600s and are located on top of the roof of Riddarhuset, 30 meters above the ground. Ulrik Samuelson wanted to bring down versions of the statues 30 meters below the ground. It’s very understandable that they look a bit chubby and compressed because of all the weight they carry on their shoulders.

There is also a stone waterfall that is supposed to remind us of the fountains in the park above.

An Art Guide with a Line Map - Stockholm’s metro

Stockholm’s metro is definitely colorful. It’s the home of what is known as the longest art exhibition in the world – 110 kilometers of art! Approximately 90 of the 100 metro stations offer unique works of art.
