The rainbow escalators are a well-liked motif for photography interested people.

The Rainbow Escalators

This isn’t an artwork, as some might think. When the escalators were installed in 2016, SL tested the LED rope light. The lights were mounted to work as guides in case of an emergency. During testing, it became clear that the rope lights formed different color combinations and that travelers seemed to appreciate the light. So, they left the lights on.

The colorful escalators can be found in three different metro stations; T-Centralen, Stadshagen and Tekniska Högskolan.
